Dan Marsh puts community first. His Byron Bay-based lab, Bayou Film, was created as a sanctuary for a blossoming scene, intended to preserve the craft of processing film by hand by educating and supporting local analogue photographers. Marsh appreciates the time-honoured processes of turning nothing into something with the flash of a camera.
For their third “Meisterpiece” film, Jägermeister documented the process of building a new darkroom at Bayou, and Dan’s photographic expedition to Melbourne. Back in the southern city where he was born, Dan captured the cityscape in winter, finding inspiration in his ice cold, industrial surrounds. Using the alchemy of the darkroom back in Byron, the photos were compiled into a zine.
